Made from sweet wrappers and boot laces and a very awful beaded waistcoat that I took apart.
A selection of my textile pieces created over the last 10 years whilst travelling and living in mainland Europe, and now Borneo, Malaysia.

Black beaded Tree (detail of larger piece)
This piece was created both on the sewing machine (like a drawing tool) and later mainly by hand, including all those beads. I sewed quite a lot of it on the bus, on my way to work each day. I used shoe laces to create the outline
These trees are all over france. They remind me of knuckles and fingers.

How I created this. First I lay down the colours with inks and watercolours, then I stitched in the lines using my sewing machine as if I was drawing with it. The rest I have done by hand and includes stitching, beading and small sequins. I will upload the finished version soon. I only know about 4 embroidery stitches, my favourite being chain stitch.
